Contestants
The digital photo contest is open to everyone, novice to expert. All digital camera systems will be allowed, both compact and SLR's. Rental cameras are available (underwater) if needed. The main goal is having fun! However we are also striving for an educational part during the contest. Photo Pros will be available at your host resort to provide you with tips
and information, and guide you on your way to shoot great pictures.
Categories
There are two categories, land and underwater. LAND: Compact and SLR cameras will be competing together in three sub-categories. 1.) Nature (any form of plant and animal life), 2.) Landscapes (sunsets to urban, anything goes), and 3.) Activity (sports or outdoor activities). UNDERWATER: This is where the compact and SLR cameras are separated. Both systems have their advantages and disadvantages versus each other which could result in an uneven competition. There are two categories. 1.) Compact cameras (wide angle, macro, portrait), and 2.) SLR cameras (wide angle, macro, portrait).
Prizes
1st, 2nd & 3rd prize in all categories plus, Land Best-In-Show and Underwater Best-in-show. The awards ceremony will be held on Friday evening.
Rules
All activities must be conform to the Stinapa (Marine Park) regulations and with respect to any form of plant and animal life. Each contestant must fill out a contest participation form available at your host resort or at Fish-Eye Photo. Photos must be taken between June 18 & 22 on Bonaire. Images can be submitted digitally at your host resort or at Fish-Eye Photo on cd-rom, USB drive or can be downloaded on computer. The entry deadline is Thursday 5:00 pm, June 22nd. A $5 entry fee per image will be submitted. Contestants must be registered "Dive Into Adventure Bonaire" festival participants. Digital photo editing will be allowed with the limitation to: cropping, color balance, brightness & contrast, sharpening, dodge & burn, saturation, retouching, and desaturate/grayscale (for black and white entries). The adding and/or deleting of objects in the image are not allowed! Images not in conformance with the rules will be disqualified.
Judging Criteria
Judging will be based on technical quality, artistic expression, and creativity -- "A photo I would like to hang on my wall."

Fish-Eye Photo will offer the following services if not available at your host resort: camera & equipment rental, equipment field repair and troubleshooting, computers for image download, viewing, editing, and storage, photo courses (20% discount on half-day courses for festival participants), tips and information, discuss your photos and techniques, sales.
Usage Rights
"All ownership and copyrights are retained by the photographer. By submitting images, you understand and agree that winning images can be used by Fish-Eye Photo in announcements of winners and to promote future Fish-Eye Photo competitions in various media formats, including print and online. Recognition will be given to the photographer when possible."
